Say It Exactly: Your First Story Card
The AI gave you something. Was it what you wanted? You can't tell until you say what you wanted.
By the end of this lesson you will have — one Story Card: a one-sentence request with "Done looks like…", a locked prediction, and one thing you threw away

Follow these steps
- Open Google Docs with your own Google account and make a new document called Story Cards. Copy the six box names from the sample card on this page: What I wanted, My prediction (locked), What the AI gave, What I threw away — and why, What I fixed without AI, Explain-it video.
- Pick one small, real job you need done this week: a paragraph for a class, a notice for a club, or something you made before that needs fixing. Before you open any AI, write What I wanted in one sentence plus a line that starts "Done looks like:". Then write your prediction, add [LOCKED] and today's date, and don't change it later.
- Copy the question from the box next to these steps into the AI you use. First check the age rule in that AI's terms: many need you to be 13 or older, and some need 18. Don't type your name, school, or contact info into it. Paste a one-line summary of the answer into What the AI gave.
- Read the answer line by line against your "Done looks like" line. Find at least one thing you will not keep (something made up, stretched, or off target) and write it in What I threw away — and why. No AI you can use? Work with the sample AI answer on this page instead. Set a reminder to come back in 2 days.
