Catch the AI: What Did You Throw Away?

Every AI answer has something you shouldn't keep. Find it before anyone else does.

By the end of this lesson you will have — one Story Card where "What I threw away — and why" names one real mistake or overclaim the AI made

What you'll show at the end: Story Card #2 with a three-column check (What I predicted, What the AI said, The difference) and one line you threw away, with the reason and where you checked it.

Check each tool's age rule before you sign up. If you are under 13, ask a parent first — some tools here are 13+ only.

Follow these steps

  1. Open your Story Cards document in Google Docs and start Card #2. Pick a topic you already know well: one unit from a class you are taking now, or the result from your Card #1.
  2. Write What I wanted (for example: "5 short points on this unit that a classmate could study from") and name the source you will check against: your notes, your textbook, or a handout. Then lock your prediction: which point will the AI get wrong, stretch, or leave out? Add [LOCKED] and the date.
  3. Copy the question from the box next to these steps into the AI you use (check its age rule first, and keep your name, school, and contact info out). Under the answer, make three columns: What I predicted, What the AI said, The difference.
  4. Check every line against your source, not against another AI. Pick one real mistake, stretched claim, or missing piece and write it in What I threw away — and why, with the page or place where you checked it. No AI you can use? Check the sample AI answer on this page instead.
