Sound Sorter: Teach an AI Clap, Snap, and Quiet
Teach a computer to hear the difference between a clap, a snap, and quiet.

Under 13? Use a parent's account, with your parent sitting next to you.
Follow these steps
- Ask a parent to sit with you. Open Teachable Machine, click Get Started, and choose Audio Project. You do not need an account. When the browser asks to use the microphone, your parent decides.
- The first class, Background Noise, is your QUIET sound. Name Class 2 Clap and add a class called Snap. Record samples for each class (the page tells you how many it needs). Then click Train Model and wait.
- Test it 10 times: clap, snap, or stay quiet, and see which bar gets biggest in the Preview. Write how many of the 10 it got right.
- Take a screenshot of your test screen. Stuck or curious? With your parent, copy the question from the box next to these steps into the AI you're allowed to use (under 13: a parent's account, with your parent next to you). No AI? Read the sample answer on this page instead.
